This is a great opportunity for dentist’s to learn first hand, how the TMJ disc becomes displaced, how muscle dysfunction occurs, how the TMJ ligaments and capsule protect the TM joint, what muscles refer pain to the face and TMJ, and how TMJ pathology remodels the TMJ and alters the occlusion. Dissect a fresh TM Joint and compare it to 20 other TMJs and prosections. This is an opportunity to test your knowledge and ask questions of dentist/anatomy professors who treat TMD patients in their offices. Participants will receive one of Dr. Tanaka's TMJ Dissection DVDs- currently used in over 80 dental schools and surgery programs in the USA and abroad as part of their core educational and post-graduate programs.
- How to separate myths from facts about TMJ dysfunction
- Which muscles are responsible for the myofacial pain that alters the occlusion.
- How the variety of shapes, sizes and degree of remodeling affect the occlusion, masticatory function and pain by examining over 20 different TMJs in addition to your specimen
- How the stages of how the TMJ disc becomes displaced and remodels, or undergoes pathologic remodeling with disc perforation and degenertion
- How your new anatomical knowledge can help improve your examination skills and treatment therapies
Enrollment maximum 20 Doctors only.
