Treatment Planning and Management of Occlusal Disorders
2-day Hands-on Workshop

2 days - 16 hours of AGD CE Credits: $3450.00

Everyone who attends this Laboratory Workshop will receive the complete set of 12 titles, in the Tanaka Educational Library of DVDs as part of their course tuition. This includes 11 DVDs on different restorative/implant and TMD/TMJ topics and also includes the 4 hour treatment planning DVD, a $1,100. value!

The Session IV or(Level IV) course that was scheduled on October 31, Nov.1 in Scottsdale has now been combined with the Session III course in San Diego. (The complete set of DVDs from the Tanaka Educational Library should provide enough background information for this course. In addition, a "special DVD" is being prepared for those who attend the "Laboratory Session III Workshop" that will cover the "guidelines" that I would have presented in Session IV.

Those who attended the Tanaka Series of programs this year should understand that this 2008 "Tanaka Advanced Restorative Guidelines" series continues next year in 2009 as a continuation of this year's courses. New and more complex guidelines for more difficult patient cases will be presented that build upon the 2008 guidelines. These advanced Guidelines will follow the graduate prosthodontic program lectures and clinical conference format presented at the University of Southern California.

Course Objectives

This hands-on workshop offers the opportunity to apply the guidelines presented in Physical Diagnosis, Occlusion and TMD and Diagnosis and Treatment of the Worn Dentition to four mounted sets of patient study casts with dental X-rays, tomograms and cone beam images. Treatment plans will be developed and discussed for each patient and participants will proceed to perform occlusal adjustments, orthodontic set-ups, and develop the posterior and anterior occlusion for the different patients.

Participant Objectives

At the conclusion of the course you should be able to:

• Perform occlusal adjustments, alter occlusal vertical dimension, apply the rules for anterior guidance, and fabricate a custom incisal guide
• Make accurate and repeatable centric relation records
• Read and interpret tomograms, C.T. and cone beam images for implants and TMJs
• Fabricate an occlusal splint for one of your own patients
• Apply segmental rehabilitation procedures in your practice

• Participants will perform many of the procedures discussed in this course and in Physical Diagnosis, Occlusion and TMD and Diagnosis and Treatment of the Worn Dentition
• Participants receive Dr. Tanaka's DVD, "Treatment Planning," from the Tanaka Educational Library
